Prenatal vitamins are specially formulated multivitamins that mothers-to-be are advised to take for their own health as well as for the health of their babies. These vitamins make up for any nutritional deficiencies in your diet during your pregnancy. While the supplements contain numerous vitamins and minerals, their folic acid, iron, and calcium content are especially important.

Everyone was convinced that the consumption of vitamins before pregnancy helps prevent birth defects and vitamin intake during pregnancy and during lactation may protect infants from a nutritional disorder. • 800 and 1,000 mcg (1 mg) of folic acid
• 400 IU of vitamin D
• 200 to 300 mg of calcium
• 70 mg of vitamin C
• 1.5 mg of thiamine
• 1.6 mg of riboflavin
• 2.6 mg of pyridoxine
• 17 mg of niacinamide
• 2.2 mg of vitamin B-12
• 10 mg of vitamin E
• 15 mg of zinc
• 30 mg of iron
High-end prenatal vitamins will contain these vitamins, in the correct dosage amounts, as well as other quality ingredients like, Probiotics (healthy bacteria), DHA, Choline, Inositol and Ginger Root. When you determine the appropriate type of prenatal vitamins with your doctor and ask for suggestions on what the note suggested by them.
  • Not all prenatal vitamins contain calcium that suits your needs.
  • Levels of vitamin A which is too high will cause birth defects.
  • Make sure that your prenatal vitamin is a multivitamin with higher levels of consumption below 10,000 UI
  • Some women do not like a particular factory production prenatal vitamins. If you feel that these vitamins do not taste good then you can replace it with another brand.
