Want a rapid weight loss? Faster metabolism can help you lose weight by burn more calories, leaving fewer calories to be converted into fat in our bodies.

Metabolism is the natural process through which your body converts food into energy for consumption by your organs, your muscles and your ordinary bodily functions. Metabolism is what many ‘dieters’ refer to as ‘burning calories’ and the obsession with counting calories spelled the end for many diets. The concept of weight loss is very simple. Burn more calories than you consume. This will allow your body to resort to it’s fat reserves which results in weight loss.

How do we speed up the metabolism? Besides doing several activity, food can also boost the metabolism. What kind of food?

Protein-Rich Food
  • Protein takes about 25% more energy to diges
  • You have to be careful about the protein you choose. Some animal products, like beef, are high in fat, which will actually cause less of an increase in metabolism, plus, it can have other health effects such as increasing your LDL cholesterol levels
  • Don’t forget to watch your portion sizes
  • Protein is also important if you’re going to maintain muscle mass or build new muscle. Muscle also helps burn calories, so this is another good reason to eat plenty of healthy protein
  • The best protein-rich foods that increase metabolism : chicken and turkey breast, skim milk, beans, eggs, fish, and tofu
Fish
  • Fish contains lots of protein and omega-3 fatty acids
  • Omega-3 acids can increase the amount of enzymes in body that are working to burn off fat while also reducing the number used to help store fat in your body
  • Fish can lower the levels of a hormone called leptin, and this will definitely contribute to faster metabolism
  • These fatty acids were shown to burn off about 400 extra calories per day
  • Not all omega-3 fatty acids will do the trick. Only EPA and DHA have been shown to produce this effect, and these are only found in fish such as salmon, Mackerel, Trout, Tuna and fish oil
  • You can also use fish oil supplements (take at least 300mg), but make sure they contain both of these fatty acids
Fiber-Rich Foods
  • Fiber can’t be digested by the body, but, essentially, your body doesn’t realize that. As a result, your body keeps working harder and harder to break down that fiber and that means your metabolism is working harder and harder, thus using up more energy and burning calories in the process
  • High fiber vegetables are one of the best food choices because fiber keep stomachs feeling full, so you won’t be hungry as often
  • Food-high in fiber : such as bran products or whole wheat breads
Water
  • Water isn’t food, but it helps you stay nourished
  • Water is the number one solvent known to mankind and no metabolic process can occur without it
  • Not only does it keep you hydrated, but it also improves your metabolic processes and helps you get rid of toxins
Fresh fruit and vegetables
  • Fruit and vegetable has lot of complex food to digest with very little energy content
  • Fruits and vegetables are very rich in nutrients and very low in calories
  • Increasing your intake of high-fiber foods like vegetables is one of the best ways to increase your metabolism
  • Dark green leafy vegetables like arugula, collard greens, dandelion greens, kale, chard, and spinach are full of vitamin C, vitamin A, calcium, and lots of fiber. These vegetables are packed with loads of antioxidants and they are so healthy for you, but what really helps you increase your metabolism is the fiber content in these vegetables.
  • Fresh fruits have actually been said to have “negative calories.” this means that your body will burn more calories digesting the food than it stores from eating the food. To ramp up your metabolism you may want to try adding fresh fruits like blueberries or strawberries or bananas to your cereal or your smoothies every morning.
Eat more tomatoes
  • Tomatoes are really great for you because they have lycopene.
  • Lycopene is the antioxidant that has been found to have natural cancer fighting qualities.
  • Tomatoes are also a good source of fiber.
  • The key ingredient for eliminating fat, however, are the acids in tomatoes that help your body get rid of fat from your system.
Spicy food (chili peppers and curries)
  • Chili peppers contain capsaicin, which activates the metabolism of fat in liver and prevents the fat from mounting up in your body
  • Some studies have said that there is a 50% increase in metabolism after eating a spicy meal that contains capsaicin
  • Chili peppers also decrease fat deposits in arteries and control cholesterol levels

Other ideas
Some people claim spicy peppers and green tea are other foods that increase metabolism. While they have been shown in a few studies to have this effect, the increases were short-term (maybe 30 minutes at the most) and were not necessarily significant enough to actually contribute to weight loss. More research is needed to determine if these are really going to be foods that increase metabolism effectively.

Diet is important, but the equally important is your dietary patterns, always eat the right kinds of food. But even though these are foods that boost metabolism, you should remember that moderation is key and that keeping your meals well balanced can help you shed the pounds. Remember that the quantity and frequency with which you consume it also important. It is recommended that you eat more often, but less amounts at a time to increase your metabolism. Having 3-5 smaller, healthier meals throughout the day and drinking plenty of water will definitely increase your metabolism and assist you in weight loss.
