Essential Oil
  • Essential oils are distilled from the leaves, bark, roots and other aromatic portions of a botanical
  • Essential oils evaporate
  • Have a concentrated aroma
  • Essential oils "oxidize" and lose their therapeutic benefits, but they don't go rancid
  • The comparison between essential oils to carrier oils if you want to make blended recipe is 20 drops essential oils equal to 1 ml of carrier oils
Carrier Oil
  • Carrier oils is used to dilute essential oils. Because essential oils are highly concentrated so we use carrier oils also called base oil to minimize skin irritations
  • Carrier oils are not made from herbs or fruits. Aromatherapy carrier oils are almost entirely made from vegetable oils. Carrier oils are pressed from the fatty portions (seeds, nuts, kernels)
  • Carrier oils are generally cold-pressed vegetable oils derived from the fatty portions of the plant
  • Carrier oils do not evaporate or impart their aroma as strongly as essential oils
  • Carrier oils has function to help the skin absorb essential oil. Please not to confuse with mineral oil ( example : baby oil ). Mineral oil will prevent the absorption of essential oil into the skin
  • Carrier oils can go rancid over time
