Uses for Health Benefits (Indications)
  • Anti-inflammatory, inflamed joints, excessive heat in the muscles and inflammation of the bowel
  • Pain reliever : muscle spasms, rheumatism, arthritis and menstrual disorders
  • Skin problems : rashes, acne, eczema, psoriasis, hypersensitive skin and allergic conditions
  • The sesquiterpenes (chamazulene) and sesquiterpenols (α-bisabolol) of this chamomile may excel in a wide range of healing properties, which are hard to find in comparable strength in any other oils
  • German or "Blue" Chamomile can be of good help in cases of headaches caused by gall bladder deficiency and general digestive problems and nausea
  • It has excellent properties to ease neuralgic pain and inflammatory processes, esp. of the eyes and the stomach (ulcer), but also helps with cystitis, arthritis, inflamed joints and rheumatism in some individuals
Precaution
  • Both are considered non-toxic and non-irritant, yet since they do emmenagogue properties when used in high concentrations
  • It should be avoided during pregnancy
  • Always test a small amount first for sensitivity or allergic reaction
  • Due to the levels of the 'blue' chemicals, this oil MUST be kept to under 2% concentration or else it becomes a counter inflammatory
Blend With
Bergamot, Clary sage, Lavender, Geranium, Jasmine, Tea tree, Grapefruit, Rose, Lemon and Ylang ylang

Recipe

Abdominal Cramp Massage Blend :

Massage as needed onto abdomen.

For burns or skin inflammation applying :

  • 1 or 2 drops of German Chamomile to the affected area. A few drops may be added to a glass of water and taken internally for gastrointestinal upset

For nervous tension or mild shock:
rub a few drops into the solar plexus
